The City of Jacksonville Beach’s Code Enforcement FAQ says a permit is required to replace a fence and that a property survey must show the proposed fence location. Check the current requirements for your address and scope before beginning work.
Use the City’s current application resources
Visit the Jacksonville Beach permit documents and forms page for current filing instructions and fence application resources. The City also provides a Zoning E-Permit Application with a fence or retaining-wall section.
What to prepare
- Your property address and a survey showing the proposed fence line.
- The fence material, proposed height, and gate locations.
- Whether you are installing a new fence or replacing an existing one.
- Questions about corner visibility, easements, pools, or other site restrictions.
- Any separate HOA design approval required for the property.
Let the City confirm the applicable limits, fees, required documents, and review steps. Avoid relying on a general height rule or an older application for a different property.
